Wal-Mart and Lee's Summit PUD update:
As you know, the Hernando City Council has ignored our petitions and the citizens’ arguments against the location of the Wal-Mart and the subdivision of Lee’s Summit. They have also waived the requirement for PUD’s to complete 25% of the residential building before starting on the commercial. We are currently appealing these decisions to the Circuit Court. These are two separate appeals.
This is to inform you of the status and to request your assistance in pursuing these projects and future projects. Our community is growing quickly and we’d like to offer our assistance to you and others, to inform you of new growth projects and how they will affect you and the community. We want to promote responsible residential and commercial growth in Desoto County.
WE NEED YOUR TAX DEDUCTIBLE GIFT. Funds are needed immediately to pay for the legal expenses on the two appeals, printing, postage, misc. fees and other expenses. Will you please send us a donation now for these immediate needs and remember us monthly as you can? We cannot continue to serve the community without receiving regular donations. Let’s work together to build this community in the way we all want to go. Send your checks to: DESOTO CITIZENS for GROWTH, P.O. Box 729, Hernando, MS 38632.
ATTEND OUR MEETINGS: Meetings of Desoto Citizens will be held at the Hernando library, 2nd floor, at 6:45 p.m. (doors lock at 7:00): Thursday, Feb. 5th and Tuesday, Mar. 2nd. We will update you on old business and inform you of new business, answer questions and welcome your ideas. Many opportunities are available for you to help us build our community. Please attend as often as you can.
